In July 2021, the Senate President and House Speaker formed the Legislative Redistricting Advisory Commission.

The Commission charge is to redraw Maryland's Congressional and Legislative election district maps.

Seven members constitute the Commission. Two members are appointed by the Senate President, and two by the House Speaker. Two members serve ex officio. The Senate President and House Speaker designate the Chair.
